Bafana Bafana talisman Themba Zwane has had his say about Hugo Broos’ philosophy following his sensational return to the national team.

Broos praised Zwane after he sunk a brace in the 4-0 win over Sierra Leone on Saturday.

The Mamelodi Sundowns ace believes the Belgian mentor may be correct that he is the missing link in the national team.

Zwane earned a surprise call-up to the national team ahead of friendlies against Sierra Leone and Botswana after Broos changed his mind about the forward.

‘The other goals were scored by debutant Mihlali Mayambela and Mamelodi Sundowns star Aubrey Modiba.

“All I can say is coaches have different philosophies, I think the style of play suits me, maybe I can say that [I’m the missing link],” Zwane told SAFA media.

Broos wants Zwane to keep the ball, knock it around and get goals for Bafana.

The 33-year-old midfielder is ready to give the national team his best shot.

“Obviously, I need to keep pushing, there are more games coming, I need to do well for my team so I can be called up for the national team.

“I’m feeling happy, we did well as a team, we did what we were supposed to do in the field.”

Zwane further revealed his favourite moment in Saturday’s match.

“My favourite part of the game was scoring two goals, it’s been long for me to score goals for the national team. I was just enjoying my game and showing the appreciation for the call-up,” Zwane added.

The Mamelodi Sundowns star is expected to be in action on Tuesday afternoon when Bafana hosts neighbours Botswana in another friendly encounter. Kick off at FNB Stadium is as 3pm.
