On Thursday afternoon, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos named his 23-man squad that will play friendlies against Sierra Leone and Botswana on 24th and 27th September respectively at FNB Stadium.
He named six newbies that will be given the opportunity to represent the national team after performing well at their respective clubs this season.
Broos is a man of his word, he once stated that he selects his squad based on performance at club level.
The newcomers at Bafana are Melusi Buthelezi of TS Galaxy, Sibongiseni Mthethwa of Stellenbosch FC, Mihlali Mayambela, who plays in Cyprus at Aris Limassol, Kgaogelo Sekgota of Kaizer Chiefs, Zakhele Lepasa of Orlando and Luke Le Roux of Varbergs BoIS FC in Sweden.

FIRST BAFANA CALL-UPS
Melusi Buthelezi
The TS Galaxy goalkeeper has been in a great form between the sticks for his club so far. In seven league matches, Buthelezi has only conceded three goals.
He had a bad game against Orlando pirates last week, making a blunder the led to the second goal. However, he have been in fine form. He will be aiming to replicate his TS Galaxy performances to Bafana.
Sibongiseni Mthethwa
The Stellenbosch FC midfield maestro has impressed for far in the DStv Premiership. He has featured in all eight matches including the MTN8.
His contributions in the middle of the park have helped the Stellies to have a decent start to the season. He however is yet to score or assist this season.

The Kaizer Chiefs winger hasn’t had a good start because the team have been under performing since the start of the season.
The 27-year-old has made six appearances for Amakhosi this season and provided on assist. Coach Broos believes the winger has a great potential and will do well once his club starts performing and delivering results.
Zakhele Lepasa
The Orlando Pirates striker picked form in the last few matches. His contribution in front for Bucs has helped in getting positive results.
The 25-year-old has made five league appearances so far. In their last match against TS Galaxy he was named the man of the match, he was involved in the first goal then scored a rocket from outside the box sealing maximum point for the Soweto giants.
Mihlali Mayambela
The Cyprus-based forward has been impressive in Europe since making a move in 2016. The Aris Limassol new signing has made five appearances for the club in all competitions.
He scored one goal and provided one assist so far.
Luke Le Roux
The Varbergs midfielder has been consistent in the field of play. His dazzling performances bossing the midfield led him to become a regular starter for the Swedish outfit.
This season, the 22-year-old has made 22 appearances for his club. He however have not score or provided an assist.
