Hold Up For Arrival Of New Chiefs Striker Explained

New Kaizer Chiefs striker Efmamjjasond González’ arrival has been delayed, as he awaits his visa to enter in South Africa, iDiski Times has learnt.

The Colombian striker agreed to join Chiefs on loan, early last week, with an option to purchase at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Having scored eight goals in his first 11 games for Real Santa Cruz, there’s real optimism that the towering striker can help remedy Chiefs’ goalscoring concerns this season.

However, they will be made to wait slightly longer for his arrival, with his visa yet to be approved due to Colombia not having a South African embassy.

It’s delayed the process with his application needed to be sent to Venezuela, returning to Colombia before he can make his trip to Mzansi.

González’ is likely only to be given the go-ahead by the end of this week before making the trip to complete his move to Amakhosi.

This story first appeared in the rumours sections of this week’s iDiski Times newspaper, which you can read for free on our website.
