Manchester City overcame an early scare to secure a 4-1 victory against newly promoted Ipswich, largely thanks to Erling Haaland’s hat-trick.

Ipswich, playing in the Premier League for the first time in 22 years, took an early lead with Sammie Szmodics’s goal in the 7th minute.

However, City quickly responded, with Haaland equalising from the penalty spot in the 12th minute, adding a second goal four minutes later, and completing his hat-trick in the second half.

Kevin De Bruyne also scored, helping City maintain a perfect start to the season while giving Ipswich a tough lesson in top-flight football.

Elsewhere, Arsenal continued their strong start with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Villa had a chance to take the lead, but David Raya’s incredible save from Ollie Watkins kept the score level.

Leandro Trossard came off the bench to score the opener, with Thomas Partey getting the second goal.

The Gunners have now won their first two games without conceding.

Tottenham Hotspur delivered a dominant 4-0 win over Everton at home, with Yves Bissouma scoring his first goal for Spurs.

Everton struggled throughout the match, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford making a mistake to double Spurs’ lead.

Despite a brief period where Everton showed some good work, they were outplayed by a relentless Spurs side led by the impressive Bissouma.

Meanwhile, Manchester United faced a frustrating 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

João Pedro’s 95th-minute goal sealed the win for Brighton, who were the better side for much of the game.

United thought they had taken the lead earlier, only for the goal to be disallowed due to a controversial offside decision.
