The Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has confirmed the official fuel price adjustments which will take effect at midnight on Tuesday, 6 May.
April saw a decline in global oil prices as markets were rattled by US President Donald Trump’s tariffs, while the rand weakened slightly amid the shocks, before rebounding in recent days.
The lower oil prices have translated to a cut in both petrol and diesel prices in May.
Prices will be cut by 22 cents per litre for 93 and 95 petrol, respectively and between 41 and 42 cents per litre for diesel.
