Here’s Kaizer Chiefs strongest XI which can BEAT Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs will need to name their strongest possible starting XI if they are to get the better of Orlando Pirates in this weekend’s Soweto Derby.

The two giants meet for the second time this season at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday afternoon in what promises to be another high-stakes encounter.

Pirates are chasing victory to maintain their position at the top of the table, while Amakhosi know that a win would not only strengthen their push for a CAF Confederation Cup spot, but also hand them crucial bragging rights.

Predicted Kaizer Chiefs XI vs Orlando Pirates

Brandon Petersen
The goalkeeper missed the previous derby due to surgery but has returned strongly, keeping clean sheets in recent matches. His experience will be vital.

Dillon Solomons
Solomons has shown flashes of quality this season. His physicality and defensive discipline will be key in dealing with Pirates’ attacking threats.

Inácio Miguel
The Angolan international has brought leadership and composure to the backline. His presence will be crucial in organising the defence.

Aden McCarthy
The young centre-back continues to impress. His developing partnership with Miguel has added balance and stability to the Chiefs defence.

Bradley Cross
After being sent off in the previous derby, Cross will be eager to make amends. With Mohau Nkota no longer at Pirates, he could face Oswin Appollis, who prefers operating from the left.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa
Known as “Ox”, Mthethwa will be essential in midfield. Chiefs may need a compact, defensive approach, making his ball-winning ability critical.

Siphesihle Ndlovu
The former SuperSport United midfielder has impressed with consistent performances. Another strong outing should secure his place in the team.

Lebohang Maboe
Maboe could be the creative spark Chiefs need. With Ndlovu and Mthethwa sitting deeper, he will be tasked with linking midfield and attack, combining with the forwards.

Wandile Duba
The in-form striker has the pace and instinct to trouble defenders like Nkosinathi Sibisi. He will be ready to capitalise on any defensive lapses.

Glody Lilepo
The Congolese forward has already found the net in a derby. His strength and directness will be key in leading the attack.

Flávio Silva
After being booed in the last derby, Silva has a point to prove. He has since rediscovered form and will be eager to deliver a redemption performance.

Chiefs have lost five consecutive league derbies against Pirates but can they turn things around?
