President Cyril Ramaphosa shuffled his cabinet on Monday night, 6 March, and three ministers were axed.

THREE MINISTERS CUT FROM RAMAPHOSA’S CABINET

Former Tourism Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu, was cut by Ramaphosa. This does not come as a surprise, as Sisulu was one of Ramaphosa’s most vocal critics within the ANC in the lead-up to the 2022 Nasrec conference.

Sisulu is replaced by veteran MP Patricia de Lille. The GOOD Party leader moves in from the Public Works and Infrastructure portfolio.

The other ministers who got chopped are Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa and Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane.

Mthethwa and Nkoana-Mashabane’s replacements are Zizi Kodwa and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, respectively.

Kodwa was moved from his position as Deputy Minister in the Presidency for State Security, and NDZ’s nearly four-year reign as COGTA minister comes to an end.

“I wish to extend my appreciation to all outgoing Ministers and Deputy Ministers for their service to this administration and to the country,” said Ramaphosa.
