Heavy traffic volumes are building up on several major routes in Limpopo as thousands of people travel from across South Africa to attend the St. Engenas Church conference on Saturday.Â
Authorities reported significant congestion on the N1 North to Polokwane, with 1,075 vehicles recorded northbound and 579 southbound at the Kranskop toll plaza on Friday.Â
Traffic is also heavy around Nyl Plaza in the Capricorn District, where 1,557 vehicles were recorded heading north.
Motorists are urged to plan their journeys and drive cautiously as traffic is expected to increase further over the weekend.Â
Meanwhile, in Gauteng, two people were killed in a crash involving a tanker and two vehicles on the N1 near Bryanston, north of Johannesburg, on Friday afternoon.Â
