Heartbroken Lorch Comments On Bucs Loss

A heartbroken Thembinkosi Lorch commented on his side’s 5-4 penalty shootout defeat against RS Berkane in the CAF Confederations Cup after missing the deciding spot-kick.

The 28-year-old netted Pirates late equaliser to draw levels in the 117th minute of extra-time after had opened the scoring in the 105th minute via a penalty.

However, Lorch turned from hero into villain after missing the only spot-kick in the shootout, and with Berkane converting all their five, the Moroccan giants were crowned champions.

Lorch, though, despite his misfortunate was named Man of the Match, but was nearly unable to talk in the subsequent interview.

“We needed a little bit of luck, we fought. It’s just that we needed luck,” Lorch said.

“Congratulations to the opponents, they worked hard.

“I think we just needed a luck.”
