Speaking on the Engineer Your Life podcast, Hazel reflected on the emotional experience while encouraging others to prioritise their self-worth.

Hazel Kotu shares her side of the story

During her appearance on the podcast, Hazel recounted how Thendo confessed to having a one-night stand with reality TV star Vuyokazi Nciweni.

According to Hazel, Thendo admitted to flying Vuyokazi from Cape Town to Pretoria, where the encounter allegedly took place.

She also challenged Vuyokazi’s public claims that the trip had been work-related, saying she possesses evidence that contradicts that version of events.

“He flew her from Cape Town to Johannesburg,” Hazel said, maintaining that the trip was not for professional purposes as had been suggested.

Neither Thendo nor Vuyokazi’s alleged accounts have been independently verified, and both have previously addressed the matter publicly from their respective perspectives.

A journey towards healing

While discussing the painful chapter in her life, Hazel explained that forgiveness was ultimately a decision she made for herself rather than for anyone else.

She spoke about learning valuable lessons on trust, self-worth and emotional healing, saying the experience forced her to re-evaluate what she deserves in a relationship.

Rather than allowing betrayal to define her, Hazel said she chose to move forward by focusing on personal growth and inner peace.

Her candid reflections resonated with many listeners, who praised her vulnerability and willingness to share difficult experiences.

Social media reacts

The interview quickly sparked conversation across social media platforms.

Many users applauded Hazel for speaking openly about heartbreak and forgiveness, describing her as resilient and encouraging others to prioritise healing over bitterness.

Others, however, questioned whether such personal relationship matters should be discussed publicly, arguing that the situation involved multiple people and should have remained private.

The discussion also reignited debate over accountability, with social media users expressing differing opinions about who should bear responsibility in complicated relationship disputes.

Choosing peace over resentment

Despite the public scrutiny surrounding the love triangle, Hazel’s message remained focused on personal growth.

She emphasised that forgiveness does not mean forgetting what happened or excusing hurtful behaviour. Instead, she described it as a way of freeing herself from anger and choosing peace.

As the conversation continues online, many have praised Hazel for shifting the focus from betrayal to healing, while others continue to debate the public nature of the revelations.
