Hawks arrest suspect in Gqeberha prosecutor’s murder

The Hawks have arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the daylight murder of Regional Court prosecutor Tracy Brown.
The suspect was apprehended during a roadblock as he was travelling from Johannesburg back to Gqeberha.
Brown, 42, was tragically shot and killed outside her Young Park home on July 31. The brazen attack was witnessed by her partner and child, sending shockwaves through the legal community and raising serious concerns about the safety of judicial officials.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court today, August 25, to face murder charges.
Major General Mboiki Obed Ngwenya, the Hawks Provincial Head, stated that the investigation is active and ongoing.
He reiterated the unit’s commitment to ensuring that everyone involved in Brown’s killing is brought to justice, underscoring the gravity of the case.
