Anti-Drug Activist Philly Moloto Appears in Court on Malicious Damage Charges
Prominent Limpopo anti-drug, gangsterism and crime rehabilitation founder Philly Moloto (51) appeared in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court today, Tuesday after his arrest on Monday.
Moloto is facing two counts of malicious damage to property linked to incidents that allegedly occurred in the Seshego and Westenburg policing areas on 28 June 2026. Police allege the incidents involved the burning of a rehabilitation centre’s signboard and a Toyota Hilux, with the fire spreading to a nearby house. The damage is estimated at about R800,000.
He was arrested during an intelligence-driven operation at his home in Welgelegen, Polokwane, after investigators allegedly linked him to both incidents. Police say investigations are ongoing.
