Hamilton Ndlovu and his companies have been compelled by the The Special Tribunal which has granted an order for Ndlovu to pay back more than R158 million to the state.

Ndlovu and the businesses scored contracts worth R172 million to provide personal protective equipment during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic which has been declared unlawful and invalid.

On Tuesday, the Special Tribunal also ordered the NHLS to ensure that Ndlovu and his companies be barred from doing business with the State.

The contracts were issued by the National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) in 2020.

The tribunal said Ndlovu’s assets must be sold by “public auction or private treaty at market price” and the money returned to the NHLS.
