Grace Mondlana shows off new braid

Grace Mondlana has set social media abuzz after documenting an intense 28-hour braiding session that left many both impressed and divided.

The popular creator, known for her natural beauty content and bare-faced selfies, shared the entire process with her followers.

According to her posts, the braiding began at 10am and only wrapped up at 1pm the following day, turning what seemed like a routine hair appointment into a marathon experience.

Despite having a relatively small afro, the time it took to complete the intricate braids quickly became a major talking point online.

Mondlana later revealed that the session cost her R3,500, a figure that sparked even more conversation among viewers.

Reflecting on the experience, she wrote: “28 hours later, braiding Gracey is back. I last cut my hair on the 1st of February 2026, and I swore that I’d braid my hair at the end of April, shiny or cloudy. Small braids aren’t for the faint hearted.”

Her transparency drew mixed reactions.

While many praised the final look and commended the stylist’s dedication, others questioned the duration and cost, with some arguing that the hairstylist deserved even higher pay for the effort involved.

Mondlana also went live during the process, giving fans a real-time glimpse into the lengthy transformation, which only added fuel to the online buzz.
