Gospel Legend Benjamin Dube’s age revealed, leaves Mzansi surprised

Gospel star Benjamin Dube‘s age was revealed, leaving Mzansi shocked that he is older than we thought. His youthful and baby face made his fans assume he was in his healthy forties. Benjamin’s boyish looks serve him well, as nobody even guessed that he is a grandfather and father of four sons.

The multi-award-winning gospel musician has fast become a global phenomenon thanks to his tours across the globe. With an illustrious career spanning years, he has dropped several tracks and albums with gold and platinum status throughout his career. Dube’s success has since seen him being dupped as the godfather of gospel music who doubles as a minister at the High Praise Center in Voslorus Johannesburg.

What is the age of Gospel Legend Benjamin Dube?

Benjamin Dube was born on 23 January 1962 in Johannesburg, South Africa. He celebrated his 60th year birthday in January. The star was raised in a Christian home as his father was a Reverend and his mother, a singer at the  Assemblies of God church led by the late Bishop Nicholas Bhengu.

His music interest started at an early age, and he went on master how to play drums and guitars. At seven, he was already performing at church with his parents and siblings; they became famous as the Dube Family singers.

Benjamin’s dream of being a star almost ended when his father was gruesomely murdered in 1976. His father’s death affected him negatively, but fortunately, his family and siblings encouraged him to move on with his life. This led the family to tour the Netherlands, where they sang and shared stories of their father’s death. Afterwards, Dube’s family released an album titled Vader Vergeef which means Father Forgives.

Later, Benjamin started his ministerial calling and solo music career with the great song, High Spirits, in 1986. Since his breakthrough in the entertainment industry, his music has positively ministered to many. Benjamin has also managed to scope many awards throughout his career.

Pastor Benjamin Dube, as he is popularly called, is a reverend, Christian leader, Gospel musician, music producer, father and mentor to many young musicians in South Africa and beyond. As a South African Gospel legend, worship is his spiritual activity with testimonies of healing people.
