Gonzalez unique Spanish name explained

Kaizer Chiefs striker Jasond Gonzalez has explained his unique Spanish name following his debut for the club last weekend.

Gonzalez came on as a second half substitute to replace Mduduzi Mdantsane as Chiefs where held to a 1-1 draw by Mamelodi Sundowns.

And this was the first of the two legs the two sides will play in the MTN8 – and after the match, Gonzalez was interviewed by SuperSport TV.

He was asked about his real name Efmamjjasond – and he explained that his parents took the initial letters of every month in Spanish.

According to Gonzalez, his parents said they had read in a newspaper there was only one other ‘Efmamjjasond’ in the world – the name of a school in the Dominican Republic.
