Gone: Callies Confirm Kopo Resignation

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies have confirmed the resignation of head coach Kwanele Kopo to iDiski Times.

After a good season with The Romans, which saw the club keeping their Motsepe Foundation Championship status after finishing 11th on the standings.

It has reached this publication that Kopo resigned at the club and he won’t continue, while there have been rumours that he will be joining DStv Premiership side Chippa United ahead of the 2023/24 season.

“Yes [he resigned] but we are already sorted with the coach, we’re not looking to get any coach. We will announce [the new coach] in due course,” Pretoria Callies chairman Moses Malada told iDiski Times.

Kopo has been critical of the officiating in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, which maybe might have been one of the other reason for him to leave the club.

Meanwhile, Morgan Mammila is expected to take the reins at Chippa, as previously reported by iDiski Times, with Kopo understood to become his assistant.

The club is yet to make an announcement on their technical team changes, after parting ways with Lehlohonolo Seema, who was only in charge for four games.
