Gogo Skhotheni reacts to her first acting gig

Tumi Motsoeneng, better known to many as Gogo Skhotheni, has officially stepped into the world of acting with her first role in Mzansi Magic’s new drama film Puseletso.

Fans first got to know her through her reality show on Moja Love, which offered a glimpse into the lives and practices of traditional healers.

Over the years, she has expanded her brand by launching a podcast and even trying her hand at DJing. Now, she adds actress to her growing list of titles.

“I’ve always wanted to be an actress, it’s what I wanted before I became a sangoma. I used to be an extra on Muvhango. I have an advertisement I did for Lotto as a main character,” she said in an interview with TshishaLIVE.

In Puseletso, she takes on the role of Sister Rachel, a part she admitted was not the easiest to play.

“Playing Sister Rachel was a bit challenging because I was a sangoma when we shot it, and we hadn’t announced that I was no longer practising. It was a bit challenging but Sister Rachel is someone who helps people, which I could relate to because it’s what I do naturally,” she explained.

The film also stars Mapula Mafole and Mpho Molepo, who she says made her return to the screen easier.

“I asked a lot of questions which they were willing to answer because I wanted to deliver my best. I’m praying for more gigs. I hope Puseletso can open more doors for me to get fully into the acting industry.”
