Popular reality star and traditional healer Lee-Ann Mokopo, popularly known as Gogo Maweni, married Sabelo Mgube in a joyful traditional wedding on Sunday.
Gogo Maweni celebrated her marriage at Mgube’s homestead in Maqongqo, outside Pietermaritzburg.
IOL reports that Gogo Maweni and Mgube married through the Shembe Church, which his family follows.
The couple has remained strong together despite facing criticism and online trolls.
Gogo Maweni told Sunday World it felt “amazing and great” to finally marry the love of her life. She said Mgube asked her to marry him three months into their relationship, and now, seven years later, they have tied the knot.
The wedding was full of happy moments, including lively dances, cutting a five-tier cake, and spending time with their guests.
Gogo Maweni told the Daily Sun: “I felt overwhelmed. I don’t want to lie, I was scared. People don’t know that I’m a shy person, and I had all eyes on me today.”
Gogo Maweni shared photos from the celebration on Instagram, writing, “My forever.”
Friends and followers quickly filled the comments with congratulations.
