Richards Bay moved two points clear at the top of the GladAfrica Championship, while after another defeat, Jomo Cosmos’ days in the professional leagues are numbered.

Pitso Dladla’s KZN side returned to the top of the log after a good 2-1 victory over Hungry Lions on Saturday.

On Friday AmaTuks had moved top of the table, but they drop back down to second after only drawing 1-1 with fourth-placed JDR Stars, who have now drawn their past four successive games.

Cape Town All Stars moved into third spot, after their 2-1 win away at Pretoria Callies, while TS Sporting won again, winning 2-0 away at Venda Football Academy. Sporting remain 15th, but are now just two points behind Callies.

Black Leopards continued their impressive under Joel Masutha with a fifth straight win, as they beat Free Stars 1-0 away to move up to tenth spot, while there was a goalless draw between Polokwane City and Platinum Stars

On Sunday Uthongathi and Cape Town Spurs played to a goalless draw in Durban, but it was a disastrous day for Jomo Sono and his bottom-placed Jomo Cosmos team, as they lost 3-2 to Tshakhuma. Cosmos are eight points from safety, and have just three games to go, and would need to win all three and have other results go their way.
