Giyani Woman Accused Of Failing To Return Sister’s R1 Million
A 37-year-old woman from Giyani, Limpopo, has been arrested after her sister alleged that R1 million entrusted to her for safekeeping was never returned.
Police say the complainant transferred the money into her sister’s bank account. When she later asked for it back, the funds were not repaid. Investigators at Waterval SAPS established that the R1 million had gone into the suspect’s account and had already been used for other purposes.
The suspect handed herself over at Waterval SAPS on Friday, 25 September 2026, and was arrested. She appeared in the Waterval Magistrate’s Court, where the case was postponed to Tuesday, 29 September 2026, for a formal bail application.
No names have been released. The allegations have not been tested in court. The matter remains before the Waterval court.
