George Clooney crowns Callum Turner as the ‘perfect’ James Bond

While many wonder who the next James Bond will be, George Clooney has made a strong recommendation on who he thinks makes the perfect 007.

Having met Turner on his 2023 film The Boys in the Boat, Clooney vouched for the Brit as someone who people can’t help but think: “There’s something with this young man.”

Turner, who recently married singing sensation Dua Lipa, is the dead ringer in Clooney’s eyes for the seventh actor to play James Bond.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Clooney says 36-year-old Turner’s charm is in his height and handsome face.

“I hope Callum ends up being the next Bond. I think he would be a great Bond,” Clooney told THR.

“He’s tall and handsome and charming and British, so he’s the perfect guy to do it.”

Until the announcement is made, the conversation continues.

In a recent interview with GQ, British actor Idris Elba put to rest the rumour that he was ever in the running to become James Bond.

“James Bond was written how he was written for a reason. But I was complimented by it. And also, I think, in realistic terms, some markets just don’t go for that. Bond is big all over the world. And [audiences] won’t [all] go for a Black male, an African male, playing Bond. That’s not what they like in their culture. Period,” Elba said.
