GENERAL CLEANER
1 year contract position – renewable subject to a performance evaluation
(Salary: R 5250.00 per month)
Purpose
To ensure cleaning, stocking, and supplying cleaning materials to designated facilities at Chrysalis Academy.
Requirements
- A certificate in Cleaning Services will be advantageous;
- At least 3 – 5 years’ relevant cleaning experience (Industrial cleaning equipment);
- Preference will be given to applicants who are 25 years old and older;
- Understanding the holistic approach to youth development;
- Non-smoker leading a healthy and sober lifestyle; and
- Competent (verbal and written) in English and at least 1 other South African language.
Key Performance Areas
- Ensure that the Academy’s facilities are cleaned and well maintained (halls, hostels, classrooms, outdoor and tented camps);
- Ensure that the venues and ablutions across multiple venues are cleaned and well maintained;
- Ensure that the walls, floors & windows are cleaned and well maintained;
- Replenish sanitation at select venues;
- Assist with setting up an mopping up of certain venues as needed; and
- Ad-hoc responsibilities assigned within the Academy.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to work effectively and economically with cleaning chemicals;
- Ability to move equipment (tables and chairs) across the campus into different venues;
- Attention to detail;
- Good time management skills;
- Ability to work under pressure; and
- Ability to multi-task.
