Gareth Cliff has defended The Kiffness, who recently came under fire over his claims he lost a half a million rand business deal as a result of his comments about the late Charlie Kirk.

The muso – real name Dave Scott – has voiced his strong support for the US right-wing political activist who was shot and killed by a sniper last week.

GARETH CLIFF DEFENDS THE KIFFNESS AGAINST CHARLIE KIRK BACKLASH

On X, Gareth Cliff defended The Kiffness, who claims his support of Charlie Kirk cost him a significant deal.

Like the muso, the radio personality is known for his controversial views.

Gareth branded the agency that pulled the plug on the artist’s deal as “cowardly marketing people.”

He also threatened to name and shame them.

He tweeted: “I’ve made some very interesting progress here. I know the company and the ad agency in question….Life is about to get exciting for them.”

Gareth Cliff later backtracked, adding: “The Kiffness is such a gentleman. He’s not interested in naming anyone. Any brand would be lucky to work with him. With respect for him, I’ll let it go”.

R500M DEAL – WHAT HAPPENED?

On Monday, 15 September, The Kiffness trended on the X app when he posted: “Just lost a R500k campaign because I defended Charlie Kirk”.

He added: “Worth it to be honest”.

The tweet was viewed over two million times and had over 2000 comments, many of which questioned the authenticity of the muso’s allegation.

The muso later posted a YouTube video in which he praised Charlie Kirk over his Christian faith and outspoken views.
