Marumo Gallants have responded to rumours they would relocate to Bloemfontein and revive the old Bloemfontein Celtic brand.
The DStv Premiership bought the side PSL license status from Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila during the 2020/21 season and are currently based in Limpopo.
On Wednesday, a video circulated where fans in Bloemfontein were reading out an alleged letter from Gallants chairman Abram Sello, explaining the club had decided to relocate to Bloemfontein and revive the Celtic brand to reconnect with the fanbase of one of South Africa’s oldest clubs.
However, on Thursday, Gallants responded to the rumours, stating “Mr. Abram Sello would like to confirm that he has not written/dispatched any letter or statement regarding the future of the club, nor has he authorised any other person to speak on his behalf.
“Marumo Gallants will issue official updates and statement in due course.”
