Former Blood & Water stars Gail Mabalane and Thapelo Mokoena are officially joining the cast of Pimville, SABC2’s brand-new telenovela set to debut in 2026.

The show will step into the 9pm slot previously held by Muvhango, which wrapped up in August 2025 after more than two decades on air.

Entertainment commentator Jabu McDonald confirmed the casting news on X.

Sharing excitement about Mabalane’s new role, he wrote: “Unseen star Gail Mabalane is set to appear in SABC2’s new telenovela ‘Pimville’, which will premiere in the 9 pm time slot previously occupied by Muvhango.”

McDonald also revealed Mokoena’s return to the genre, posting: “Thapelo Mokoena returns to the telenovela world after eight years, joining SABC2’s new telenovela Pimville.”

The pair will join industry veterans Lillian Dube, Clementine Mosimane, and Charmaine Mtinta, who are also part of the production. Pimville, produced by Bakwena Productions, is already generating anticipation as viewers look forward to seeing fresh faces and familiar favourites bring the new storyline to life.
