Arsenal triumphed 1-0 away to their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on a two-game super Sunday in the Premier League.
Spurs kept more of the ball as both sides created their fair share of chances in the opening period.
Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski came closest for the hosts while Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli forced Guglielmo Vicario into some important saves in the home goal.
It would be just after the hour mark that Spurs’ frailties would be exploited, though.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have struggled with set-pieces for a while. This time, the backline failed to deal with a Bukayo Saka corner, with the England international finding the head of Gabriel who got what would turn out to be the match winner.
Following the goal, the Gunners would keep their nerve, putting on a resilient defensive display to claim all three points and the bragging rights.
Spurs have managed just four points in the league thus far, their fewest from the opening four matches of a season in nine years.
Arsenal, on the other hand, remain unbeaten this campaign and go within two points of leaders Manchester City.
In the other game, Newcastle United came back from a goal down to beat Wolves 2-1 at Molineux with the Magpies making their best start to a Premier League season since 1995.
The midweek schedule sees the return of the Uefa Champions League, with the new format set to entertain viewers for the very first time when Aston Villa travel to Young Boys before AC Milan host Liverpool on Tuesday.
Manchester City face Inter on Wednesday whereas Arsenal will take on Atalanta on Thursday.
