South African motorists should brace themselves for a fuel price hike next Wednesday.
Data from the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has confirmed that the price of 93 and 95 octane will go up by 51 cents a litre.
Diesel, however, is still showing an under-recovery, recording a significant increase of R1.43 cents per litre.
The price of diesel is also reeling from increased demand and limited supply.
Illuminating paraffin will increase by 77 cents.
The department says that higher prices were mainly driven by a weaker rand which has been impacted by a stronger dollar.
