On 3 August, Lesedi Matsunyane, a casting director, actress, and TV producer, announced on social media that she is taking up space in real estate, marking a new career path.
LESEDI MATSUNYANE EMBARKS ON REAL ESTATE JOURNEY
Lesedi shared that it’s been almost a month since joining the renowned real estate agency Chas Everitt, founded in 1980, with several branches across South Africa.
Reflecting on her new career venture, Lesedi said that it is “overwhelming” since she juggles her studies and work.
“As well as the fact that I am an actress and a producer, I have also decided to become a real estate agent. Which is overwhelming; I’m not going to lie. So, I’m working, and I’m studying at the same time,” she began.
The 33-year-old also shared her reflections about her new work experience thus far.
“I am working under Chas Everitt. That’s pretty big, yeah. I’ve been at this for about a month, and I’m really excited for where this journey takes me,” she added.
Starting a new job can be frightening, but Lesedi seems to be vibing with her new colleagues, particularly her mentors Nuno Brizido and Karabo Selepe.
“I have the most awesome team. Your girl is mentored by Nuno Brizido and Karabo. I just want to shout out to Nuno and Karabo, who [have] really just taken me under their wing, and I’ve been learning a lot,” she said.
“Also, the teammates that I have; George, Marco, and Faith. It’s been such a jol and such a learning experience, and we can only go up from here,” she said.
POWERFUL FAMILY TIES
Armed with a degree from the reputable film school AFDA, Lesedi works mostly in the arts as a casting director at her family-owned production company, Ferguson Films.
The mother of two stands on the shoulders of entertainment royalty; her parents are Connie Ferguson and Neo Matsunyane, and her stepfather was the late Shona Ferguson.
Her aunt, Kgomotso Matsunyane, is a broadcasting maverick, and her older sister Momo Matsunyane is also a talented actress.
