From the living in the streets to Fourways – The inspiring story of self-made-millionaire Teko Modise

Teko Modise is one of the most followed South African talismans. The retired footballer has been making headlines on or off the pitch.

With decades of an illustrious career, Teko has fast established himself not as a random football player but as a big brand. He joined the fourth tier division Ria Stars at the age of 17-years before joining City Pillars. He has rags to riches story to tell. Confirmed reports have it that he once lived in the streets for the better part of his childhood.

In 2006 he left City Pillars for Supersports United on a three-year contract before he switched to join Soweto giants Orlando Pirates. From Orlando Pirates, he made a money move to Mamelodi Sundowns. After winning several trophies with Masandawana, he went on to join Cape Town City.

He happens to be an ambassador for 12-time League winners Mamelodi Sundowns. However, he also doubles as an Exectutive Public Relations Officer for Cape Town City Football Club.

In 2016, he purchased a multi-million rand mansion in Fourways, Johanessburg. The estate is located in the leafy suburbs of Ruimsing. The two-storey Tuscan style mansion has stone walls and tile roofs. However, it also boasts of porticos and contemporary exterior space.

Brouhaha Mansion

Little is k known if Teko Modise still owns his Brouhaha mansion. Confirmed reports have it the house was once put on auction in 2019 after he failed to pay the R2.7 loan facility.
