At a wedding, all eyes are usually on the bride and her wedding dress. This was the same for Lamiez Holworthy-Morule, whose dress became a major talking point during her wedding.
Lamiez and Khuli Chana tied the knot in a lavish three-part wedding in the North West, where family friends and colleagues gathered to celebrate this beautiful occasion of love.
A BEHIND THE SCENES LOOK AT LAMIEZ’S WEDDING DRESS
Orapeleng Modutle skillfully designed Lamiez’s royal blue dress. It had bead embroidery around the hip area, and the mermaid-like style featured four layers of Seshweshwe traditional fabric, with feather finishings between the layers.
The dress accentuated Lamiez’s cleavage and complemented her dark skin tone.
Orapeleng posted the process of designing the dress, which received compliments from the public, including the recent fashion graduate Somizi Mhlongo.
In the video, we see the designer engaging with Lamiez, ensuring that she’s satisfied with the dress.
Unlike other designers, who simply deliver the dress to their clients and leave. Orapeleng was in Lamiez’s dressing room on her wedding day, helping her with the dress.
MARITAL BLISS FOR KHULI AND LAMIEZ
In 2019, the couple held their first traditional wedding, which was followed by the signing of their marriage certificate and a pregnancy announcement in 2023.
They celebrated the final leg of their wedding in April 2026.
Besides the wedding dress, Lamiez’s speech was truly amazing. The mother of one expressed the following about her husband:
“You put me and our children first. I have no doubt, even in my sleep, that you love me,” she began.
“I remember when you said to your family, I want to marry this woman, and they said,’ What did she give to you? because it had only been months,” she added.
“He paid lobola in 2019, just a few months after we started dating, and seven years later, we are still married,” she continued.
“He still treats me like a queen, we have a family of our own, and that for me is how I know that God loves me,” she said.
