  • Two men have been arrested over the Louvre Museum heist in Paris.
  • The suspects are linked to last week’s daylight robbery where priceless crown jewels were stolen.
  • Authorities have since reinforced security at France’s major cultural sites.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with last week’s robbery that saw precious crown jewels stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris.

This was confirmed by French media on Sunday, 26 October 2025. According to reports, the men are from the Parisian suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis, and one of them was preparing to board a flight from Charles de Gaulle Airport when he was apprehended.

Items of inestimable value were taken from the world’s most-visited museum last Sunday, when four thieves wielding power tools broke into the building in broad daylight. The robbery forced the museum to close for the entire day.

France’s justice minister has since admitted that security protocols “failed,” saying the incident left the country with a “terrible image.”

French police revealed that the thieves were inside for just four minutes before escaping on two motorbikes waiting outside.

Security measures have now been tightened around France’s cultural institutions, officials confirmed.
