Staunch fans of the outspoken media personality Sizwe Dhlomo expressed their thoughts regarding his sudden exit from Kaya FM on 27 May.

FANS REACT TO SIZWE DHLOMO’S EXIT FROM KAYA FM

In an Instagram post on 21 May 2026, Sizwe shared a lyric from Drake’s song Iceman stating, “I’m better off independent, they should let him leave.”

In hindsight, some Instagram users commented on that post, wondering if he was hinting at his imminent resignation from the station.

While others simply wished him well in his future endeavours and admitted that they would miss him on the radio.

SIZWE RETRUNS TO RADIO

Sizwe made his way back to the radio space in 2020, after receiving an offer from Greg Maloka, who was the managing director of Kaya FM at the time.

His original team included Katleho Sekhotho, Sandile Van Vuuren, and Tunicia Phillips, and together they created absolute magic in that coveted afternoon slot.

During an interview on the Podcast & Chill with MacG, he said the following about joining the station:

“You know how I got my job at Kaya? I was sleeping. Literally I came back home early from work (business),” he began.

“Then I got a call from Unathi (Nkayi) and was like, hey, Greg Maloka would like your number, should I give it to him?” he added.

“He then calls and says I would like to meet up with you. I was like, let’s meet up in Rosebank.”

“…And he’s like if you would like to, I’d like for you to host drive on Kaya,” he said.

SIZWE GOES ON A DATE WITH A KAYA FM LISTENER

One of the most unforgettable moments involving Sizwe was when a listener, Seipati Moloi, called into The Best T in The City show hosted by T-Bose and asked to go on a date with her crush, Sizwe.

Luckily, he agreed, surprised her with a bouquet of roses and gifts on their date at the upmarket Marble restaurant in Johannesburg.

SIZWE WEATHERED OFFICE POLITICS AT KAYA FM

Office politics are inevitable, and Sizwe was not immune from this reality. In 2021, former Kaya FM host Unathi Nkayi accused Sizwe of verbal abuse. However, he quickly presented audio evidence that proved his innocence.

WHAT IS SIZWE’S NEXT CHAPTER?

Some people were a tad confused about Sizwe’s departure from Kaya FM. They couldn’t help but question whether he is actually leaving the station altogether since he has been sharing updates about his home-built radio studio featuring the Kaya FM logo and the show’s name Siz The World.

Is there more coming up between Sizwe and Kaya FM? Only time will tell!
