Fourth Suspect Arrested in Reiger Park Mass Shooting

The Hawks have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the Reiger Park mass shooting that left four people dead.

Two anti-gang unit members and two women were killed in the attack early last month.

Three men, Regan Collis, Jamal Meyer and Elvino Crafford, have already been charged in connection with the case and have told the court they are innocent.

Fourth suspect found with firearm

The latest suspect was arrested on Friday by members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit.

According to the Hawks, officers found a revolver, ammunition and two cellphones in his possession.

Preliminary investigations have linked the man to the Reiger Park shooting.

However, the Hawks said the charges currently facing him differ from those brought against the first three accused. Authorities have not ruled out adding further charges as the investigation progresses.

Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale said investigators are continuing to work on the case.

Three accused remain in custody

Collis, Meyer and Crafford face four counts of murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances and firearms-related charges.

The fourth suspect is expected to be added to the same case.

The first three accused were previously remanded in custody after completing submissions in their bail applications.

A ruling on their bail applications is expected in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.

Investigation remains active

The latest arrest brings the number of suspects linked to the case to four.

Police have not provided further details about the fourth suspect’s alleged role in the shooting or disclosed whether additional people are being sought.

The Hawks have stressed that the investigation is still underway and that further charges remain possible.

The case follows the fatal Reiger Park shooting that claimed the lives of four people, including two members of an anti-gang unit.

The allegations against all four suspects have not yet been tested in court, while proceedings against the first three accused continue.
