Fourteen people were killed in a Soweto tavern.
The mass shooting, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning near the Nomzamo informal settlement, is believed to have injured nine other people.
According to Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela, who confirmed the incident, the unknown gunmen opened fire on the patrons at random.

“It happened around 12:30 this morning, unfortunately, 12 died on the scene and another one died on arrival at Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital and the 14th one also died after admission,” said Mawela.
The shooting occurred exactly two weeks after the tragic deaths of 22 people at an East London tavern.
