Foster off the mark in Belgium

It was a good weekend for Mzansi footballers abroad with a number of them getting some positive results at their respective clubs.

THABO CELE

The KZN acadeny graduate was once again instrumental for Radomiak Radom as they continued their good start to the 2022/23 campaign.
Cele played 81 minutes as Radomiak defeated Lechia Gdansk 4-1 in the Polish Eskraklasa on Sunday.

LUKE LE ROUX 

Le Roux started and played 90 minutes as Varbergs BoIs drew 1-1 against Degerfors in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

The 22-year-old has become the glue that holds the team together with coach Joakim Persson recently admitting that he is one of his best players.

KHANYA LESHABELA

Leshabela was introduced in the 59th minute, but he couldn’t help Crewe Alexandra avoid a 3-0 defeat against Salford City.

BOIPELO MASHIGO

The highly-rated teenager got another start and got substituted in additional time in Spvgg Unterhaching’s 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich II. Mashigo has started the season well with Haching, where he has scored three goals and assisted another strike in five league games so far.

LIAM JORDAN

Jordan started and played 63 minutes as FC Helsingor lost 3-0 against Hvidovre in the Danish second tier on Saturday evening.

REFILOE JANE 

The Banyana Banyana skipper made her debut for her new club Sassuolo as they lost 2-0 against Bayern Munich in a club friendly on Friday evening.

SPHEPHELO SITHOLE

Sithole played the entire 90 minutes, but could not help SAD Belenenses avoid a 3-2 loss against FC Porto B in the Portuguese second division on Sunday.

KOBAMELO KODISANG

Kodisang was handed his second straight start at his loan club Moreirense. The attacker lasted 70 minutes and laid an assist to help Moreirense get a well deserved 3-1 league win against Academica Viseu.

LYLE FOSTER

Foster was introduced in the 76th minute and he scored the fourth goal to help KVC Westerlo defeat Standard Liege 4-2 on Saturday night.

TASHREEQ MATTHEWS

Despite only joining IK Sirius this week, Matthews made his debut for the club on Saturday. The 21-year-old was introduced for the last eleven minutes as Sirius drew 0-0 against Helsingborg in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
