Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton jams to Musa Keys’ Amapiano hit Selema

One of the world’s most recognisable Formula One drivers and one of the most prominent athletes of all time, Lewis Hamilton shared a reels video on Instagram. In the video, he was playing a song by Musa Keys titled Selema (Po Po), and it’s featuring an artist called Loui. Musa’s music is huge across the piano scene in South Africa, and by the looks of it, the song is also doing very well internationally.

Lewis Hamilton’s video was a compilation of his entire weekend. Lewis was walking around greeting his fans and making several appearances. He chose Selema Po Po as his theme song for the video; he also shared a small clip of him showing the song art of the music.

The former F1 champion also took time to sign some autographs, pose with fans, do interviews and travel on a helicopter to another destination for more thrills.

Quite frankly, Amapiano in general is just taking over the world. Many artists across the globe agree with this. As far as we can see, when there are international musical festivals, Amapiano artists are invited to perform, and the crowds always go insane over them.

Due to the massive size of his sound, he created a music video for the song, and it’s very fun and upbeat. His music video is basically just him and his friends in a bus dancing to the song. The music video has zero theatrics and no drama, just people dancing and having fun.

Some of South Africa’s most prominent celebrities reacted to Hamilton’s video. These celebrities are, of course, the Major League DJz, rapper Cassper Nyovest, media personality and rapper Boity, and so many more. They left a lot of comments under the video, saying they were impressed and proud of the South African artist that was recognised by Lewis.

Many South Africans who are not celebrities in the comment section also went wild, beaming with excitement. They commented to Lewis and said since he enjoyed South African music so much, he should come to the country. A lot of Lewis’s fans felt recognised as well. With the logic that if Lewis can remember one of their own, he recognises them too. Not only that, but amapiano is a huge genre right now, and it seems as if everyone wants a piece of the pie.

As we know, when something like this happens, artists usually retweet or repost on their Instagram stories. People across South Africa tagged Musa on the video by Lewis Hamilton, but he hasn’t reacted just yet. The amapiano artist is still quiet. Perhaps he’s still just processing it, or he’s not as excited as the rest of the country.
