A former Orlando Pirates coach has been relieved of his duties by Algerian side JS Kabylie.

This comes after a string of poor results which left the club in 9th position on the log standings.

The coach in question is none other than Josef Zinnbauer. Many will remember him from his time at Pirates between 2019 and 2021.

Former Orlando Pirates coach sacked in Algeria

Former Orlando Pirates coach Zinnbauer took charge of Algerian giants JS Kabylie last season.

Unfortunately for him, his side have struggled to get going this season.

They currently sit in ninth position on the league’s log standings after 20 matches.

Last season, his side finished as narrow runners-up. The club were beaten to the title by MC Alger, who won via a two-point gap over them.

The former Orlando Pirates coach will now have to look for his next club.

Since leaving the Buccaneers, he has already coached four teams in five years.

Zinnbauer’s spell at the Bucs

The German mentor took charge of the Buccaneers for 68 matches.

He picked up 35 wins while playing out to 20 draws. Orlando Pirates lost 13 matches under him.

His biggest accomplishment was helping them lift the MTN8 title back in 2020.
