Former ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe and his six co-accused case postponed

- Former ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe and six co-accused have had their corruption case postponed to 18 February at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
- The charges against them, which include fraud and money laundering, relate to a 2017 tender awarded to Mabe’s company to supply waste collection vehicles to the City of Ekurhuleni.
- State prosecutors noted that some of the accused have made representations which are yet to be disclosed.
The corruption trial involving former African National Congress (ANC) spokesperson, Pule Mabe, has been postponed until 18 February.
Mabe and his six co-accused appeared at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where they face a number of charges, including fraud, money laundering, and contravention of the Public Finance Management Act.
The charges are linked to a 2017 tender awarded to Mabe’s company, Enviro Mobi.
The company was contracted to supply the City of Ekurhuleni with 200 waste collection vehicles.
According to state prosecutor Magdeline Montwedi-McLean, some of the accused have made representations, but these have yet to be publicly disclosed.
