A Premier League footballer was dumped by his wife after she saw him sneaking his mistress into their home on footage captured by the doorbell camera.
The unnamed footballer is a household name who appeared at the recently completed European Championships, according to Mail Online.
A source told the publication that the player was kicked out of his family home after his wife received a photo from a mystery woman on Instagram with a message saying: “I slept with your husband.”
The wife was on holiday with her children at the time; her husband assured her that the photographs were fake.
Once she returned home, she went on to the camera app to try clearing her doubts. And that is when she saw that her husband did enter the house with the female companion.
“The wife was totally shocked and heartbroken because nothing can prepare you for something like this,” the source told Mail Online.
“When she saw the doorbell video camera footage, she knew there and then what the truth was. There’s no going back from that and it meant the end of their marriage.”
The source added that the player’s international teammates were aware of his wife’s detective work and made fun of him throughout the Euros.
“All the players knew about it and so did a lot of their families because everyone was talking about it in Germany. Some of the players nicknamed him ‘Ringo’ and were calling him that behind his back.
“But it’s no joke because this whole thing has caused a lot of heartache and the breakup of a family.”
