KAIZER CHIEFS CONSIDER TO REPLACE ARTHUR ZWANE

As The South African website reported on Monday, the club is thought to have lost some of their intense support for coach Zwane and thus starting to imagine a new start without “Mangethe.”

THE REASONS

1. MTN8

Having last tasted a trophy in 2014/15 with the PSL title under Stuart Baxter, the expectation was not to win the league but the MTN8 this season. Instead, Chiefs were dumped out of the semi-finals by AmaZulu.

2. Nedbank Cup

So if it was not the MTN8, then surely it had to be the Nedbank Cup? Maybe at least make the final? But nope, Chiefs went sent packing by bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals.

3. CAF Champions League

Soon after the Nedbank Cup dream went up in smoke, Amakhosi lost on the opportunity to finish second to secure CAF Champions League football by losing to Swallows FC and SuperSport United.

4. 11 DEFEATS

To add to the woes, Zwane’s debut term marked a record 11 defeats in a single season.

5. FAN ATTACK

While last weekend’s incident was an unacceptable disgrace from angry fans, where Zwane was hit by a bottle that cut his face, it probably marked the end. Zwane is likely to resign to avoid an increase in toxicity and resistance.
