Final 2022 FIFA Rankings Announced

FIFA have announced the final FIFA rankings of 2022, with Brazil staying ahead of Argentina, despite the latter’s triumph at the FIFA World Cup.

The newly crowned world champions climbed from third into second place after lifting the Jules Rimet trophy but weren’t able to overtake the Selecao.

Runners-up France moved from fourth into third spot, while Belgium dropped from second into fourth.

England stayed unmoved in fifth place, followed by Netherlands (+2) and Croatia (+5), who were the biggest jumpers in the top 10.

Italy dropped by two places after failing to qualify for the tournament in Qatar, while Portugal stayed unmoved and Spain dropped by three places into 10th.

Morocco (+11) are the highest-ranked African team and have climbed into 11th place worldwide following their heroics at the World Cup.

It is the highest rank by an African nation since Egypt were ninth in 2010.

Meanwhile, South Africa remained unchanged in 67th spot.
