A construction worker sustained serious injury after being pinned against a concrete block on the N3. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, the 30-year-old was rushed to the hospital.
Netcare 911 responded to an accident on the N3, Ashburton, travelling towards Pietermaritzburg, according to Shawn Herbst.

“Reports indicate that a 30-year-old female construction worker had been struck down by a light delivery vehicle, crushing her between concrete blocks.
“Paramedics assessed the scene and found that the patient had sustained critical injuries. The patient was treated on scene by an emergency care practitioner.
A pedestrian was murdered in a separate incident on Monday when he was struck by an SUV on the N3 eastbound before Tollgate Bridge in Durban. Emer-G-Med paramedic Kyle van Reenen stated when they arrived on the scene, they discovered the man had died as a result of his injuries.
