The family of the late South African rapper Bravo Le Roux has officially announced details of his memorial service, giving fans, industry figures and the public an opportunity to come together and celebrate his life and legacy.
In a statement shared on the rapper’s Instagram page on Thursday, 29 January 2026, the Peter family confirmed that the memorial will take place on 5 February 2026, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, at OR Tambo Hall in Khayelitsha, a venue widely known as Mew Way.
Bravo Le Roux, born Sinesipho Peter, passed away in Switzerland on Thursday, 22 January 2026, with the news of his death announced a day later.
His passing sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community and beyond, with tributes pouring in from fans and fellow creatives.
In their statement, the family paid tribute to the rapper’s influence and lasting impact on South African culture.
“Bravo Le Roux was a gifted, creative, cultural contributor and a deeply respected public figure whose work and spirit resonated with audiences both locally and internationally,” the statement read.
“He was loved by his family, admired by his peers, and cherished by fans across all spheres for his contribution to the culture in Cape Town and across the nation. His legacy continues to live on through his artistry, his influence, and the many lives he touched.”
The family said they would remember Bravo not only for his creativity and fashion sense, but also for who he was away from the spotlight.
He was described as a devoted family man, a father and a husband “who gave so much of himself to his craft and community.”
They extended an open invitation to industry stakeholders, public servants and members of the public to join them in commemorating his life, while noting that media access will be managed according to family protocol.
The Peter family also expressed gratitude to those who have shown support since the rapper’s passing, thanking fans and well-wishers for the messages of love and comfort shared in his memory as they prepare to honour his life and contributions.
