The Faircape Group operates 6 high end retirement/lifestyle villages in the Western Cape.

We are seeking a Laundry Coordinator at our facility Noordhoek Manor to oversee the daily operation of the linen department, ensure quality controls are in place, manage service inquiries and work towards achieving the operational objectives while ensuring that the health care facilities operational standards are met.

Job duties include, but is not limited to the following:

Upkeep of the linen room

• Responsible to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the linen area
• Maintain hygiene standards
• Report any maintenance issues

Manage daily operations of the linen room

• Ensure that the daily operations of issuing, receiving, and sorting of linen is done correctly and efficiently
• Ensure the management of used and infected linen is handled correctly

Oversee quality controls of the linen

• Ensure that quality controls of the linen is adhered to, that all linen meets the standards for use and appearance
• Ensure that linen is stored and handled in a manner that will prevent cross contamination and maintain a clean environment

Record keeping, stock and par levels

• Submit weekly stock take reports
• Ensure par levels are correct
• Reconcile invoices of sent and received laundry
• Updated daily linen productivity report

Report to supervisor

• Report any issues of concern relating to the operational function of the linen room, quality control checks, record keeping, discrepancies in stock and par levels

Additional duties

• Perform other duties as assigned and able to carry out any other reasonable task set by the Housekeeping Supervisor

Education and Experience:

• Grade 12
• 12 months or more experience in the same or similar role

• Vaccinated against covid-19 or prepared to be vaccinated prior to commencing job

Salary on offer from R 5,500.00 Cost to Company per month.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday from 06h30 to 18h30 and every alternate Saturday from 07h00 until 12h00. You will be rostered to work on public holidays as operationally required.
