Fadlu – Maybe The Ref Is A Supporter

Maritzburg United head coach Fadlu Davids insinuated after the match that the match official might have been a Kaizer Chiefs supporter after Amakhosi won the game with a penalty.
Chiefs started like a house on fire, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes via Keagan Dolly and Christian Saile Basomboli.
However, Maritzburg came back into the tie thanks to goals by Rafiq De Goede and Amadou Soukouna, who leveled the tie before the break.
In the end, though, Chiefs walked away with three points after referee Xola Sitela awarded the visitors a penalty in the 76th minute, which was calmly slotted away by Yusuf Maart.
After the match, Davids was visibly annoyed with the referee, starting his post-match interview with SuperSport TV: “I just wanted to say maybe a [Chiefs] supporter. Maybe a supporter.”
Davids then went on to analyse the game, saying his team makes too many mistakes in crucial moments of the game.
“It’s a critical phase of the game, we started very good. On the front foot, creating opportunities and then a counter. Ok, the goalkeeper slips – can happen,” he continued.
“But these errors [are] what’s costing us. The fight, the performance, you can’t fault the players, they gave their all.
“But yeah, slip in the box on one side, slip in the box other side, just be neutral.”
When asked whether he’s had a chance to relook at the penalty incident, Davids said; “no, I don’t want to talk about [it],” before walking away from the microphone.
The result leaves Maritzburg in the relegation/promotion playoff spot with 21 points after collecting just one point in their last six league games.
