Kaizer Chiefs and Mozambique defender Edmilson Dove says he and the Mambas will not roll over when they meet African champions Senegal in a two legs of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Group L.

Dove’s side sit in second place in the group with four points from two matches, right behind the Lions of Teranga, who are at the top with six points from the same number of games.

The former Cape Town City man, who has been instrumental for Arthur Zwane at Amakhosi this term, went into the national camp on the back of a good form with Chiefs who recorded four wins in a row in all competitions.

The Glamour Boys are fourth on the DStv Premiership log tied on 37 points with rivals Orlando Pirates from 23 matches.

Speaking to iDiski Times writer Robin-Duke Madlala in the current edition of the newspaper, Dove expressed his belief that Mozambique can cause an upset.

“In football anything can happen. We are going to have trust in ourselves and go there without fearing anything,” Dove told iDiski Times.

“Football is the game that we need to enjoy, so we are going to enjoy each and every minute of these games and the outcome we will see on the day.

“Obviously it was good for us to keep the momentum going. Now we are going to have a break and it is always an honour to represent your national team.

“Now I shift my focus on the games that I have against Senegal and I’m just hoping that I can contribute with all I can and come back to finish off the season.”
