Former Young African SC strength and conditioning coach Helmy Gueldich has been appointed at Orlando Pirates ahead of the new season.
Gueldich has been credited for the incredible displays for Yanga in their double treble-winning stint under Nasreddine Nabi and has been in high demand since leaving the club.
He was part of the technical staff Nabi was aiming to keep when landing a new job after initial talks with Kaizer Chiefs that fell through.
However, before he was appointed as Botola Pro champions ASFAR, Pirates approached the Tunisian to join their technical team, as reported by iDiski Times last month.
Sources within the Buccaneers camp have confirmed he penned a deal to join them ahead of the new season and has begun his process of securing a work permit and flight before making his official move to South Africa.
Gueldich holds extensive experience across the continent and with Pirates returning to the CAF Champions League this season, his expertise will undoubtedly be a major addition to their technical team ahead of what is expected to be a gruelling campaign with five trophies on offer.
