A former municipal manager in the North West has been arrested for illegally awarding a R215m IT tender.
The Special Investigating Unit says Theletsi Roger Nkhumise, contravened the Municipal Finance Management Act.
He was arrested on Friday and appeared at the Moretele Regional court on Monday.
The SIU investigation also found that the price from the original contract between Madibeng Municipality and Flame IT didn’t correspond.
The Madibeng municipality had paid Flame IT R64m for the same service.
The investigation proved that Flame IT got paid much more for the same service provided to the Moretele municipality.
