Former Manchester United midfielder Anderson, once a Premier League champion, now finds himself in serious trouble off the field.
The Brazilian star has been ordered to pay a £45,000 (R1-million) child maintenance debt in Porto Alegre, Brazil, or face going to jail. Anderson now has nine children.
The 36-year-old, who won four Premier League titles with Manchester United, has 30 days to pay the amount or be sent to Irmão Miguel Dário Prison.
If he fails to pay, he could be placed under a ‘semi-open’ jail plan, allowing him to work during the day but return to jail at night.
This isn’t Anderson’s first brush with the law. In 2020, he was involved in a £4.7-million (R110-million) cryptocurrency laundering case.
Once living a glamorous lifestyle, including sharing a home with Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani, Anderson’s life has almost flipped upside down.
